About Me

I am a classically educated polymath with degrees from the universites of Surrey, Liverpool and Ulster. I graduated with a degree major in Classical Studies in 1996 before going on to do a Masters degree in English literature in 1998. Following the completion of a Masters of Science degree in 2003, I became a lecturer in ICT. I eventually became a Doctor of Philosophy in 2010.

I have worked as a lecturer, teacher, tutor and examiner in ICT, Mathematics, and English language & literature. I have a range of teaching experience at all ages, levels and abilities. I am not registered with any tuition agencies, nor am I on social media.

I teach Mathematics as a language. I use a range of linguistic methods in teaching, especially etymology and first principles. As a generalist I can bring a vast range of interconnected subject matter to almost any topic and still have the ability to make it interesting...at least to kids. This coupled with a family-friendly, home-based atmosphere, encourages children to thrive and have fun as they study with me.
